Dear colleagues, The ENOG Programme Committee (PC) is getting ready to start working on the programme for the ENOG7 meeting, which will take place in Moscow, Russia, 26-27 May 2014. The PC has already attracted a strong team of industry experts with diverse regional and international experience, and we are looking for new members to join us. What is expected from a PC member? ------------------------------- - To actively participate in forming the programme of the ENOG meeting. This implies active participation in the PC activities (teleconferences, on-site meetings, reviews, etc.) and working towards reaching consensus on decision points. - To actively seek content that is relevant and interesting to the ENOG community. This includes reaching out to presenters of interesting talks, people involved in projects, research or other activities that may be of interest to the community. - To stay aware of the topics that address the needs and interests of the ENOG community. This requires good knowledge of relevant regional and/or international issues and usually assumes attendance of ENOG meetings. - To actively publicize the meeting and its agenda to potential attendees, using both personal contacts and social networking. If you meet the above requirements and are willing to commit your expertise and energy to the work of the ENOG 7 PC, please send an email and tell us about yourself and your motivation to: <pc(a)enog.org>. [training] IP Address Space Course this November in London

Dear colleagues, We still have places left for the new RIPE NCC training course that will take place on the Sunday before the RIPE 69 Meeting in London this November. This new course will focus on how to obtain, transfer, manage and protect your IP address space. The course is free of charge and is open to anyone interested. The course will cover the most frequently asked questions the RIPE NCC receives about IP address space. Course title: RIPE NCC Presents: IP Address Space Basics How to obtain, transfer, manage and protect your IP addresses Goals: By the end of this course, you will be able to: - Manage your IPv4 and IPv6 addresses according to current RIPE Policies - Understand how to obtain IPv4 addresses through transfers - Protect your address space from hijacking Target audience: Anyone interested in the policies and procedures around address space in the RIPE NCC service region, and companies looking at address space transfers, mergers and acquisitions. No prior knowledge of the topic is necessary. Time: Sunday, 2 November, 10:00–16:00 Outline: - Becoming a RIPE NCC member (why and how) - Obtaining IP addresses (IPv4 and IPv6) - IP address space transfers, mergers and acquisitions - IPv6 basics - Address space hijacking - Resource Certification (RPKI) Cost: Free of charge. Coffee and lunch will be provided. The course will be delivered by representatives from the RIPE NCC’s Training Services and Registration Services departments. Приглашаем вас принять участие в работе над обсуждаемыми предложениями (обсуждение в списках рассылки ведется на английском языке). ===== Ниже перечислены текущие проекты политик RIPE: 2014-04, «Relaxing IPv6 Requirement for Receiving Space from the Final/8» – Смягчение требований к IPv6 для получения адресного пространства из последнего /8 В настоящее время для получения диапазона адресов IPv4 от RIPE NCC местная регистратура (LIR) должна получить пространство IPv6 из области обслуживания RIPE NCC. Суть этого проекта – смягчение названного требования в отношении всех глобально маршрутизируемых одноадресных блоков адресов IPv6, в том числе и PI адресов, выделенных организации до получения статуса регистратуры. The current RIPE Policy Proposals are: 2014-04, “Relaxing IPv6 Requirement for Receiving Space from the Final /8” To receive a final /22 IPv4 allocation from the RIPE NCC, currently Local Internet Registries (LIRs) must have allocated IPv6 address space in the RIPE NCC service region. This proposal aims to relax this requirement to any globally routable unicast IPv6 address block. Status: extended Review Phase – open for discussion until 20 October 2014 on the Address Policy Working Group mailing list. To state your opinion on this proposal, please email: address-policy-wg(a)ripe.net. This is expected to be completed by the end of November 2014 and the transfer of IPv4 PI assignments will then be possible.
