Dear colleagues,
The ENOG Programme Committee (PC) is getting ready to start working on
the programme for the ENOG7 meeting, which will take place in Moscow,
Russia, 26-27 May 2014.
The PC has already attracted a strong team of industry experts with
diverse regional and international experience, and we are looking for
new members to join us.
What is expected from a PC member?
-------------------------------
- To actively participate in forming the programme of the ENOG meeting.
This implies active participation in the PC activities (teleconferences,
on-site meetings, reviews, etc.) and working towards reaching consensus
on decision points.
- To actively seek content that is relevant and interesting to the ENOG
community. This includes reaching out to presenters of interesting
talks, people involved in projects, research or other activities that
may be of interest to the community.
- To stay aware of the topics that address the needs and interests of
the ENOG community. This requires good knowledge of relevant regional
and/or international issues and usually assumes attendance of ENOG meetings.
- To actively publicize the meeting and its agenda to potential
attendees, using both personal contacts and social networking.
If you meet the above requirements and are willing to commit your
expertise and energy to the work of the ENOG 7 PC, please send an email
and tell us about yourself and your motivation to: <pc(a)enog.org>. Please
do this no later than *December 1, 2013*.

(RACI): http://www.ripe.net/ripe/raci
RIPE NCC.
RIPE 69: https://ripe69.ripe.net/programme/raci/application/
Почему RACI?
--------------

Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that applications from academics to attend
the RIPE 69 Meeting in London from 3-7 November as part of the RIPE
Academic Cooperation Initiative (RACI) are now being accepted:
http://www.ripe.net/ripe/raci
Packages include meeting registration and paid travel and accommodation.
Students and researchers from within the RIPE NCC service region are
encouraged to apply.
The closing date for applications is Friday, 12 September 2014.
Interested parties can apply via the RIPE 69 website:
https://ripe69.ripe.net/programme/raci/application/
Why RACI?
--------------
RACI gives students and researchers a unique opportunity to present
their work to leading technical figures in the Internet world, receive
feedback on their research from experts, and have their work published
on the RIPE Labs website for community feedback.
RACI also benefits the RIPE community by introducing newer members to
the community who can give interesting presentations at RIPE Meetings
that might not otherwise be seen.
Students and researchers may wish to present topics relevant to the RIPE
community, including (but not limited to):
- Network measurement and analysis
- IPv6 deployment
- BGP routing
- Network security
- Internet governance
Please spread the word among your networks and encourage suitable
applicants to submit their interest.
RIPE Academic Cooperation Mailing List
--------------------------------------
A new academic cooperation mailing list is now available for those with
an interest in the academic side of networking, as well as RACI itself.
The goal of the list is to maintain and strengthen ties between the RIPE
and academic communities by providing a platform for members of each
community to connect and discuss matters of common interest.
The mailing list is public and you are invited to join today:
https://www.ripe.net/mailman/listinfo/raci-list/
Kind regards,
The RACI Coordination Team (Chris Buckridge, Fergal Cunningham, Fatemah
Mafi)

Colleagues,
A small group of network operators has been working on defining a
minimal, but feasible package of recommended measures that, if deployed
on a wide scale, could result in visible improvements to the security
and resilience of the global routing system.
Many operators are ahead of the curve and already implement much more
than the proposed recommendations. But we believe that gathering support
for these relatively small steps could pave the road to more significant
actions on a global scale.
We called this set of recommendations a Routing Resilience Manifesto –
you can find a draft document here: https://www.routingmanifesto.org/.
This initial version of the Manifesto was drafted by a small group, but
we need a wider community review, your feedback, and, ultimately, your
support to make this initiative fly. It was already presented at several
venues, like RIPE and NANOG, and now we open it for a more detailed
review. Please note that this is very much a work in progress.
Please review the document and provide your feedback and text
suggestions online or via routingmanifesto(a)isoc.org by 31 August 2014.
Regards,
Andrei Robachevsky
