RIPE позволит на предстоящей конференции голосовать электронным способом по всем вопросам собрания членов RIPE (или как там можно это перевести на русский язык с General Meeting) без личного посещения представителем локальной регистратуры данного собрания. Просьба воспользоваться этой возможностью и проголосовать за (или против) те решения, которые по Вашему мнению, являются правильными (неправильными). ENOG 2: Call for Presentations

Dear colleagues, We're seeking contributions to the ENOG 2/RIPE NCC Regional Meeting that will take place at the Crowne Plaza World Trade Center in Moscow from 28-30 November 2011. The key themes for this meeting are peering, interconnection and collaboration between Internet service providers (ISPs). The program will consist of a mix of tutorials and plenary sessions and will cover challenges, tools, experiences and best practices in the following areas: - Peering and Internet Exchange Points - Network Operations and Security - IPv6 deployment - New trends in the Internet development - Internet governance and regulatory practices - Content delivery --------------------------- Call for Presentations --------------------------- Would you like to give a presentation at this meeting or suggest a topic for discussion? Then please send your proposal and slides to <pc(a)enog.org>. Deadline to submit a proposal is 31 October 2011. The proposal should be written in English. However, the presentation can be given in either Russian or English. We will provide simultaneous translation services between Russian and English during the meeting. Please note that this is a technical conference and marketing and commercial content will not be accepted. Proposal after Yandex fail

Good day, all. All of yours, I think, knows about connectivity problem with yandex services at 19 Aug 2011. According to comment of their IT team, it happend when all BGP routes was mistakenly redistributed in OSPF, which leed to memory overflow at routers like a snowball, one-by-one. As far as I know, there is only one way to avoid it - by limiting maximum number of OSPF routes in redistribute process (Cisco example <http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_0s/feature/guide/fsoredis.html>) at ASBR, which explicity is Single Point of Failure(SPoF). What happens if it failed you've just read above. So don't the respected community consider to make request for changing RFC to avoid such SPoF in future and give possibility to limiting maximum size of OSPF(or, wider, any IGP) routes at any OSPF-routers? Problem with ENOG Mailing List

Dear colleagues, Due to a configuration error, ENOG mailing list messages from June-August 2011 were not delivered and do not appear in the mailing list archive. This also includes confirmation emails from the mailing list to new subscribers. This problem has now been fixed. Any email sent to the ENOG mailing list during June-August 2011 needs to be re-sent. On 28 November, ENOG 2 will be co-located with the MSK IX Meeting. Information on how to pre-register for ENOG 2 will be posted in September. ------------------------------ Now Seeking: ENOG Programme Committee ------------------------------ We are seeking volunteers from the Russian Federation, CIS and Eastern Europe to form the new ENOG Programme Committee. As a member of the committee, you can use your unique knowledge and expertise to suggest what topics are important, current and relevant for the local community. You will play an important role in developing the programme and meeting agenda, finding key players in the local and global Internet industry to present at ENOG 2, and assist in reviewing presentation proposals.
