We welcome presentations sharing operational experience in these areas and focusing on technical, architectural and coordination aspects of the deployment, maintenance and operations of Internet technologies in networks and systems. Дорогие коллеги, Позвольте мне представиться. Меня зовут Максим Буртиков и я недавно был нанят RIPE NCC для работы в регионе ENOG в качестве External Relations Officer. Это первый случай, когда RIPE NCC специально нанимает кого-то для работы в регионе ENOG или вообще за пределами штаб-квартиры в Амстердаме и я рад этой возможности представлять интересы сообщества. В мои обязанности входит работа в сфере управления интернетом, взаимодействие с органами государственной власти и представление интересов отрасли в данном диалоге. Помимо этого я буду помогать при подготовке встреч ENOG в России и Украине, а также других грядущих мероприятий по всему нашему региону. Находиться я преимущественно буду в Москве, где будет организован офис, и мы с вами сможем встречаться и обсуждать текущие вопросы и планы. Эта новая позиция – первый шаг RIPE NCC по наращиванию присутствия и улучшению внешних коммуникаций в регионе ENOG. Dear colleagues, My name is Maxim Burtikov and I would like to introduce myself to you all. I have recently been hired as the RIPE NCC's External Relations Officer with special responsibility for the ENOG region. This is the first time the RIPE NCC has hired someone specifically to work in the ENOG region, so I am very pleased to given the opportunity to represent the community's interests. My responsibilities will involve managing Internet governance issues in the region, establishing relations with government representatives and representing the interests of the Internet community and RIPE NCC members to governments and law enforcement. I will also help with preparations for ENOG Meetings in Russia and Ukraine as well as other meetings and events throughout the region. I will mainly be based in Moscow, where I will organise an office and place where I can meet with members of the community. This new position is the first step in the RIPE NCC's increased external relations efforts in the ENOG region. There are plans to hire a second external relations team member who will be focused on more technical issues. That position will be announced publicly and the advertisement will be sent to the ENOG mailing list. I would like you to know that I am available to talk about any Internet governance-related issues or suggestions you might have. ENOG 8 - Call for host

Dear colleagues, The ENOG 8 Meeting has been scheduled to take place in Odessa Ukraine on 21-22 October 2014 at the Bristol Hotel (TBC). Following the success our the previous meetings in the Ukraine we are eagerly anticipating this meeting, however we need some assistance in the form of a local host for this meeting. The Host for ENOG 8 will be required to: - Assist in finding a suitable venue for an evening social event with dinner - Supply suitable Internet connectivity for the duration of the event (this can be sponsored) - Provide financial assistance of at least 15,000 EUR - Assist in finding suitable local sponsors for the event - Invite local government officials - Provide local support before and during the event - Create local language (Ukrainian/Russian) PR material for the event - Support in providing invitation letters for visas for participants (where needed) - Assist in finding suitable simultaneous translation for the event - Assist in finding a suitable web-cast service for the event - Assist in finding a photographer for the event - Assist with printed material for the event - Provide four staff members to assist with registration and other duties during the meeting Hosting such a meeting provides your organisation with excellent visibility to the ENOG community. Although the meeting is mostly technical, it is also a chance for people to meet and network with others in their field. RIPE 68 will take place from 12 – 16 May 2014 in Warsaw, Poland. The RIPE Programme Committee (PC) is now seeking content proposals from the RIPE community for the plenary session presentations, BoFs (Birds of a Feather sessions), panels, workshops, tutorials and lightning talks at RIPE 68. The PC is looking for presentations covering topics of network engineering and operations, including but not limited to: • IPv6 deployment • Managing IPv4 scarcity in operations • Commercial transactions of IPv4 addresses • Data centre technologies • Network and DNS operations • Internet governance and regulatory practices • Network and routing security • Content delivery • Internet peering and mobile data exchange Submissions RIPE Meeting attendees are quite sensitive to keeping presentations non-commercial, and product marketing talks are strongly discouraged. Repeated audience feedback shows that the most successful talks focus on operational experience, research results, or case studies. For example, presenters wishing to describe a commercial solution should focus on the underlying technology and not attempt a product demonstration. The RIPE PC accepts proposals for different presentation formats, including plenary session presentations, tutorials, workshops, BoFs (Birds of a Feather sessions) and lightning talks. Коллеги, добрый день! Хотел бы привлечь ваше внимание к проекту, организованному Internet Society, по сбору информации о рисках, связанных с глобальной системой маршрутизации. Информацию о данном проекте вы можете найти на сайте: https://www.internetsociety.org/rrs/ Для сетевых операторов участие в проекте поможет лучше понять степень собственной уязвимости и последствия различных инцидентов в глобальной системе. Например: - Что происходит с моими префиксами в глобальной системе? - Каковы последствия ошибок конфигурации других операторов для моей сети? - Насколько безопасна глобальная система маршрутизации? Участники проекта получают еженедельную сводку подозрительных изменений в глобальной системе, имеющих отношение к сетям оператора. Мы просим провести классификацию этих событий на предмет их значительности/ущерба. Это также поможет отсеять события, не являющиеся инцидентами. Продолжительность проекта 6 месяцев. По его завершению мы проведем анализ и опубликуем отчет. Для участия напишите, пожалуйста, в rrs-admin(a)isoc.org, указав номер своей автономной системы, а также автономных систем ваших клиентов, которых вы также готовы включить в обзор. Коллеги, на самом деле, это у нас местный борец якобы с какой-то несправедливостью в домене .UA. Аля местный украинский блоггер-посмешище. Личных обид, амбиций и неприязни - море. В свое время пытался устроиться на работу к администратору домена .UA - компании "Хостмастер" - но его не взяли:). После этого стал "борцом за справедливость" - на самом деле обычный киберсквоттер с большим ЭГО и отсутствием элементарных правил приличия. Хотя, по возрасту - уже не школота, но выйти из этого образа уже не может:) Мы уже в Украине привыкли - так что не обращайте, плз, внимания. Сорри за таких "уникумов". Только непонятно, как он на ENOG просочился? Явно кто-то из украинских регистраторов привел. Надо на будущее, наверное, ввести хоть какую-то модерацию по персонам ввести.
